Upload Quota

Introduction

Because apps cannot upload an unlimited amount of items to Google Photos for free, we have had to implement a quota per user to use the app for free. Hopefully for most users, this will not be a significant limitation.

Current Quota

The current quota is:

  • 50 Albums per user to be created by the app. Albums which were previously created by the app count towards the quota, but other albums (created by the user manually or other apps) do not count

  • 250 Media Items per album. Each album can have up to 250 items. Photos and Videos which are already in the album online count towards the quota, whether they are created by the app or not.

We hope to keep these as they are, but we may be forced to change them - up or down - based on the amount of use of the app.

I need more!

If the app determines that you have reached the quota and you have not purchased the pro version, it will not allow you to upload. Instead it will offer you the option to upgrade to the Pro version to increase the quota.

If you purchase the Pro version of the app, you will increase the quota, subject to a fair use policy of 1000 albums and 2000 photos per album. Just like the normal quota, this is subject to change, and will hopefully be removed altogether once Pro is purchased. It will also remove all the ads from the app.

This can also be done at any time from the settings. If you have previously purchased the Pro version but the app has not recognised this, just attempt to purchase it from the settings and the app should then recognise that it has already been purchased.
