Applications

A lot of space on a device may be taken up by the installed applications and their private files. Pro users can now scan all the applications to find out how much space they are taking up.

Scanning is performed the same as for files and folders, and the main screen will show the total installed size of all apps, and the total data (persistent files) and cache (temporary files) used by all the apps.

When viewing in detail, the usage is broken down per app, and then within each app into installed size, data, and cache. In list mode, the sizes are shown relative to the largest app found.

For each app, you can load the app info screen, where you can clear data or cache, or uninstall the app.

Usage Access

From Android Oreo (8.0) onwards, permission needs to be granted by the user to query the storage used by applications. When you request that the applications are scanned, the Usage Access settings will open. You will need to manually grant Usage Access to Storage Analyser. The images below show how this is done.
